KJo’s ‘Student Of The Year’

In true sense "the competition of life begins" for the three very adorable new comers of Bollywood Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan! Karan Johar's recently released 'Student Of The Year’ is all about energy, zest, fun, entertainment, youth power, freshness, championship and friendship.

The movie talks about, how best friends turn into foes while chasing their dream to win the coveted trophy. The story is filmed in a flashback mode where the school mates meet each other ten years after the school, to meet their unwell dean Yogendra Vashisht (Rishi Kapoor) and remember their sweet & sour past and narrate the story to the audience.

Saint Teresa is the school where the rich kids become friends with the sincere and hardworking scholarship students. Rohan Nanda (Varun Dhawan) is the hot hunk of the school and Shanaya (Alia Bhatt) is his so-called girlfriend. The story changes its track when Abhimanyu (Siddharth Malhotra) makes an entry.
Dialogues, songs, music and the humour is the best topping of this recipe.
The movie is a full entertainment with fresh faces and new talents. Alia who hails from the Bhatt’s family have the perfect acting skills. Varun is confident and has given spontaneous performance throughout the film. Siddharth is calm yet competitive with his talent. But the show stealer is indisputably, Varun Dhawan for his appealing performance.
The introduction scenes of the threesome are different and unique with the support of old Hindi filmy songs and shows Karan’s love and passion for Hindi cinema!
Rishi Kapoor again plays an unusual role of a gay principal who has a soft corner for the sports coach Ronit Roy is just superb!

Karan Johar has altered the meaning of friendship with this movie, everyone is chasing for the desirable trophy but friendship is still a matter of fact for them.
SOTY is a great attempt by KJo. The story is new and quite unpredictable till the climax.
The songs are a hit, be it the Kukkad song or the Disco song, or the super romantic Ishq Wala Love! Among all the songs the most loved or enjoyed songs are Ishq Wala Love, Disco Deewane and Vele.....The choreography, picturization, music and lyrics are beautifully done by Karan Johar and the entire team of SOTY. The best part of Disco Deewane is to see Karan's lucky mascot and best friend Kajol shaking his leg with the trio, though we missed SRK in the same frame.

Watching Varun and Siddharth with their six-pack abs is a treat to the eyes.
The dialogue that every one mouths while exiting the theatre is "Cha mein oo ki matra, ta mein ee ki matra aur ya mein aa ki matra" ;-)
Most enjoyable moment of the movie is during the song ‘Raadha’ when Rishi Kapoor out mere jealousy throws his ‘dafli’ on the coach’s wife.

Karan Johar has really groomed the youngsters very well and have given them the enviable debut and a good film of their career. No doubt, but there is going to be a tuff fight at the award functions for best debutante this year!
Thumbs Up to the lovely trio, director KJo and the entire cast and crew for giving such a refreshing and happening movie....
Recommended not just to students but everyone....
